Western State Public Radio Board of Directors
Conference Call 12/16/10
In attendance: , Karen Holp, Paul Stankavich, John Hess, Flo Rogers,Tom Mara, and Chris Hartig
I. Treasurer conference report: Karen's final report shows that the budget looks good post-conference. We made a small profit on the conference provided all outstanding receivables are paid. Final misc invoices have been sent for outstanding membership and conference fees.
The board thanked Karen for her years of service to the WSPR board and John Hess will be assuming Treasurer reports in the future.
II. Super Regional Conference: There is consensus among the regionals is that there will be planning for super regional. Two regionals favor meeting in 2011 and two favor waiting until 2012, Location TBA, but will likely be somewhere between Denver and Chicago. The largest perceived problem with 2011 is finding hotel rooms. The WSPR board's consensus is to try for a Nov 2011 Super Regional.
III. Discussion of WSPR support of joint lobbying efforts (http://170millionamericans.org/) etc. After discussion it was decided that Paul should should use the WSPR listserve to make sure members are aware of the joint lobbying effort. However the board consensus was that the level of participation is an individual station choice after consulting with their legal council.
