Meeting called to order by Chairman Stankavich at 3:00 p.m. MDT

Committee:
Holp and Mara met and have a plan in place for the nomination process. The committee is looking for an NPR board member from WSPR to serve as the third member of the group. Mara’s role is to send out the email to the WSPR mailing list to set up interviews of prospective board members. Holp’s role is to poll the current WSPR board members up for election to see if they want to serve for another term.

2010 Conference Planning: November 4th and 5th 2009-

A draft agenda was sent to WSPR board members. Nothing in the agenda is written in stone; Schwartz mentioned that we would want to have a session on our own initiative regarding the internet local/national partnership. It was agreed that we need the WSPR web discussion be put on our agenda with interested partners invited to attend. We move the Public Radio 2.0 to later in the morning, helping to set the agenda for the rest of the meeting. We have until the first of October 2009 to determine rooms and attendance. (A new draft of the WSPR mtg. agenda will be sent out by Chairman Stankavich.)
Update on last week’s NPR meeting:
A small contingent of local managers met in Washington for Capital Hill day. Many Western managers attended. There was discussion at the board meeting regarding participation at the A-Reps meeting via the web. Attendance will depend upon how well the meeting is structured and run. There was some additional information about the new NPR building it appears that now NPR staff will have to vacate its’ current location by 2012. There was discussion on how NPR and local stations can do collaborative fundraising. Mark Vogelzang was introduced as the new head of NPR development. We might want to invite Mark to WSPR this fall to discuss NPR/local stations collaborations.
