I.  8:25 am WSPR President Ron Kramer calls meeting to order.

II.  WSPR Secretary John Greene begs committee’s indulgence to have Minutes of 2006 annual meting delivered at later date. Secretary Greene then asked members permission to enter into the record extended remarks he has prepared on public radio and other topics of interest to him.

III.  President Kramer delivered his report. He announced his retiring from the Presidency of WSPR, asked members to think about creating a paid Executive position at WSPR as other regional orgs have done / are doing. Ron state that the current Pres. Role has been taken as far as an unpaid volunteer head of the organization can take it. [Some discussion followed]   

IV.  Treasurer Paul Stankavich gave financial report. A WSPR interest bearing account was opened in June 2007, $25,000 now in this account.     

V.  Elections Four of five board terms expiring. Carl Matthuson chaired nomination committee, nominees are:  President-Paul Stankavich;  V.P. John Swartz–Doug Sweet;  Secretary–John Hess; Treasurer-Karen Holp.  Ballots were distributed to voting WSPR members.

While ballots counted: The following retiring WSPR members and friends were recognized: Lamar Marchese–KNPR, Marty Neeb-KPLU, Marty Durlin-KGNU, Richard Meng-KUSU, Frank Preciado YUMA, Colin Gromansky Las Cruces.

Outgoing officers John Greene and Kerry Swanson were thanked for service.

And the following distinguished WSPR members were recognized in Memorium for their considerable contributions to public broadcasting: Wayne Bundy, Ray Dilly, and Mario Valdez.

A brief discussion followed re: location and timing of next WSPR conference. Timing always an issue, highlighted here.  Beth Warren suggested Durango , Colo either in 08 or 09. Paul Stankavich said this perhaps first order of business for new officers whose ballots were being counted by hotel kitchen staff at this very moment. Members by show of hands, November was deemed ideal time hands down, no pun intended.

Treasurer Stankavich thanked outgoing President Ron Kramer for his service. Members agreed and a cool gift was presented to an appreciative Ron.
