WSPR CONFERENCE SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY:
Western States Public Radio is pleased to offer scholarship travel reimbursements for some station managers to attend the WSPR Conferences. We provide a subsidy to cover air and ground transportation, with lodging and meals. We hope to continue to do so with future conferences.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
The applicant CPB-qualified station must be located within the WSPR region. The scholarships may be awarded on the basis of need or as an encouragement to first-time attendees. Applications are encouraged from stations that cannot afford to send their manager to a WSPR conference or for stations whose licensees do not pay for conference and travel costs.
SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS
Applicants for the WSPR scholarships must submit a letter of application by e-mail to Board President Kerry Swanson. Any WSPR member may nominate a manager of an eligible station to receive a scholarship. For all application emails, please include information about why your travel to this conference would be difficult without an assisting scholarship.
DECISION CRITERIA
The members of the WSPR Board will select and notify the scholarship recipients. WSPR will work with the recipients to reimburse all eligible travel expenses. WSPR reserves the right not to award the scholarships if the nature of the applications or nominations does not justify the awards.
